Iphone Tips and tricks :How to make your iPhone Battery Last Longer

By Neal Adam Hamou

The battery life of an iPhone 3G is nothing short of embarrassing. The secret is out and it is almost funny how blatantly Apple showed lack of care for this feature. They don't even provide the option of having a spare battery! So you could say that's two slaps in the face. But Apple has given advice on how to preserve your battery life. They are all pretty much common sense, but some provide to be useful. Most tips simply instruct you to turn off anything and everything that you're not using at the moment.

We know there must be thousands more tiny helpful hints as to how to save your iPhone battery's life but we sifted through hundreds and narrowed it down to only the most effective. And without further ado, here are those helpful hints to saving your battery life:

  • Adjust brightness to lower dim level
  • Minimize use of third-party applications like games that prevent the screen from dimming and applications that use location services.
  • Fetch your email less frequently. I found this made a rather noticeable difference on my original iPhone. (You can change your e-mail settings to poll by the hour)
  • Turn off 3G, location services, push email, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth when you're not using them

  • Turn off equalizer when listening to your song play lists
  • Lock your phone when you're not using it so that you don't keep accidentally turning on the screen. (Just press the sleep/wake button at the top of the phone)

The most curious tip I've seen is to make sure you keep the electrons in the battery moving occasionally. This means you should go through at least one charge cycle each month where you run it down all the way dead. Everyone has heard the rumor that you should keep it charged to the max, but apparently, this is good for it! A short battery life has been one of the most popular iPhone complaints that users have. I hope users find these battery saving tips useful. Thank you for taking the time to read these hints.
